Continuing the Journey to Zero Waste to Landfill

Brand leadership is what we need to solve for our current National waste and recycling issue. So it is fantastic to announce today that we have a major brand from the Food and Beverage industry supporting Australian technology and collection programmes to take the next step toward ZERO WASTE TO LANDFILL.

Australian innovator, AXIMILL, has developed the first of many products made direct from food and beverage waste, highlighting the potential value of what we now throw in the ground!

Focussed on the Food and Beverage sector, the goal is to prove that ZERO WASTE TO LANDFILL is possible.

Based in Melbourne, and in conjunction with Closed Loop Environmental Solutions (Closed loop), AXIMILL has been working on milling waste into ingredients that are then moulded into plastic product, which are of course then completely recyclable!

Almost 3 years ago, AXIMILL started working with the Ferntree Gully McDonald’s restaurant in Victoria to prove out their theory and technology, meaning some waste from the restaurant did not have to go to landfill.

AXIMILL then formed a relationship with Closed Loop to produce saleable products for the market place. This not only diverts waste from landfill, but also replaces virgin plastic material.

Launching today, the RECIRCUL8 BOWL is a collection bowl, made from this waste. Its release highlights the future of what can be done on mass scale with what was once thrown away. AXIMILL is able to unlock valuable additional resource from waste and, with use in the Circular Economy, recycle it again and again.

To help drive this demand, the Recircul8 Bowl collectable series has partnered  with Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania, to show that YOU CARE not just for the environment, but also for families caring for seriously ill children.

The RECIRCUL8 BOWL is available for $45 to help support Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania.  “We are delighted to be the recipients of funds raised from this innovative product. To be able to help families with seriously ill children while reducing waste is a win win partnership we are proud to be associated with” Peter Bishop, CEO, Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania.

This is the first of many products to be made available using this technology that will use food and beverage waste and disposable cups, turning them into usable items.
