Our units decompose and pasteurise food and organic waste in an aerobic environment using controlled temperatures, agitation, airflow and organic starter material.
All you have to do is add food and organic waste throughout the day, including fruit, vegetables, grains, dairy, meat, fish, poultry, eggshells, and liquid. Basically all material except large bones and scallop and oyster shells.
The unit features a sophisticated ventilation and deodorisation system that promotes decomposition without any unpleasant smells.
Within 24 hours, the original material will be reduced by up to 90 per cent – transformed into a concentrated compost you can use in many different ways, including:
If you have a Melbourne restaurant or café you can also join the City Harvest program to participate in a full closed loop program and bring your food waste back as valuable new produce. Please contact us if you are interested in participating in City Harvest.
Before recommending a Closed Loop Organics unit, we perform a full audit of your business’s kitchen and waste streams, as well as suggesting a location for installation of the unit.
As your sustainability partner, Closed Loop will also implement a communication plan to help your staff and contractors understand and engage with the program.
Closed Loop Organics units are available in sizes to process between 20kg to 1 tonne of food waste a day.
