FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW 2020
SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT
Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is the largest horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere.
Hosted at the heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, the show has more than 100,000 attendees across 5 days.
Closed Loop Site Services is the Sustainability Partner for the show in 2020, managing all waste with a goal to increase landfill diversion to over 60% in 2020.
MARCH 14 – EVENT UPDATE
Due to recent guidance from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) in light of the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation which advises against non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people, we regret to share the 2020 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show presented by Lawn Solutions Australia has been cancelled.

PLASTIC BAGS BANNED
This year all exhibitors are banned from bringing light-weight plastic bags into the event. The plastic bags ban will apply to all lightweight plastic shopping bags with a thickness below 36 microns, including degradable, biodegradable and compostable bags. This is in line with the recent ban on plastic bags throughout the State of Victoria. Alternatives are paper or cardboard bags, cloth, jute or hessian bags, or non-woven reusable bags.
