Meet the Team

Rob is recognised as Australian leader in the circular economy movement, having launched initiatives and businesses in this space since the early 1990s. Managing Director & CEO of CLES since founding in 2001, including launching Closed Loop Organics in 2011 and Simply Cups in 2017.

Zoe is the apotheosis of the Closed Loop team, currently serving as the Commercial General Manager with 18 years under her belt. Previously specialising in Corporate Governance, ISO accreditation and HR management, as well as a very strong administration background, Zoe can proficiently assist and manage all facets of the business.

Rod’s current role of General Manager sees him working across all business units and support functions to ensure Closed Loop are best positioned to develop systems and products that champion the circular economy. Rod’s expertise is in design, product development and commercialisation, as well as business administration and leadership.

Greg is our New Zealand Director and is truly an expert in Event Waste management, recycling, upcycling and sustainability sector. Greg’s been a passionate member of the team for nearly 10 years now (working in both Australia and NZ), and is also a recognised member of the leadership team at the Sustainable Event Alliance.

Brendan is an environmental scientist and circular economy nerd…so is the right fit to explore and implement upcycling solutions and opportunities. He does this by engaging with our manufacturing partners, government and industry groups – always looking to deliver the most beneficial outcomes for the environment and each stakeholder.

Coming from a digital marketing background, MJ uses her passion for the circular economy and marketing skills to manage all marketing functions for Closed Loop.

Mark is a long standing Closed Looper (joined in 2007) and is an invaluable part of the team. He’s been the main man with all things Commercial Organics, from point of sale, installation, technical support and general know-how. Mark’s got a natural penchant for strategy, procedure and has meticulous attention to detail.

20 years sales/management experience. Founded and co-founded multiple hospitality distributors, event spaces and coffee manufacturing companies. School runs every morning must start with a Frappe (Greek Style); and I make a mean one!

Originally from the UK, Rupert has been with Closed Loop for over 16 years and is an invaluable part of the team. Although he’s worked in many facets of the company, his passion is in packaging sales where he is regularly out on the road visiting customers talking to them about their needs, product issues and anything else that is pertinent to their business.

Thao has been with Closed Loop for two years now, and leads the Simply Cups program – marrying her skills in operational leadership and passion for circular and sustainable recycling programs.

Bridget has been with the Closed Loop Site Services team for 6 years, but has been in the industry for over a decade; making her an expert. With a passion for both events and sustainability, Bridget continuously works with her team towards greater landfill diversion rates at every event.

As National Manager in New Zealand, Sam’s day varies from delivering on clients’ sustainability goals and brewing coffee to leading the way in sustainable event management, packaging and waste diversion.

Flaka is a versatile and customer-focused Customer Service Manager. Possessing a proven track record in leading customer-focused initiatives, she excels in creating positive interactions.

Chu joined the CL family in 2018 and initially worked with the Resource Management team, and is now the Finance and Administration Team’s support for Customer Service and Accounts. Chu’s passion and dedication for Closed Loop brings out her full potential and inspires and drives her to do more…with bottomless coffee in hand.

As an Assistant Accountant, Rachel can pass day to day transactions and help in preparing monthly Financial reports and other accounting tasks. And as she manages Bank Reconciliation daily at work she also makes sure to reconcile things at home and see to it that everything is in place and balanced.

Anastasia (Anna) is an accomplished accountant with a meticulous approach to financial management and a keen eye for detail. She excels in maintaining accurate financial records, analysing data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Graduating from her Diploma of Social Media, Tiare started with Closed Loop as a Social Media intern and has expanded her responsibilities to researching marketing trends and consumer circular economy education.

Jaie combines event management with waste reduction. From coordinating logistics, implementing innovative waste diversion strategies and working closely with our Sustainable Waste Staff to revolutionize how Australian events approach waste. Jaie’s unique blend of interpersonal skills and quick onsite troubleshooting make him a valuable member of the Site Services team.

As an Events and Operations Manager, Brian has a keen eye for detail and a knack for efficiency, Brian streamlines operations to minimise waste and maximise impact. From coordinating complex logistics to improve efficiency; Brian is an invaluable member of the Site Services team.

Tony has worked closely with Closed Loop Site Services for 4 years and is now a valued member of the Closed Loop team. Tony has optimised waste operations at variety of events across Australia and New Zealand and brings a unique perspective to his role as the Queensland Operations Manager.

Ash started with us as an intern with Simply Cups, our paper cup recycling program. She now works with our Site Services team to optimise waste operations at variety of events.

As a Closed Loop site services manager at the Concourse in Sydney, Danielle utilises hands-on expertise and skills along with TQM techniques acquired during previous roles in technical and operational project management as well as post-doctoral industrial research appointments.
