- A cutting-edge tech expo
- Live cooking demos with a world-class chef
- An art exhibition exploring innovation through a creative lens

Sustainable waste management with Closed Loop
As the event’s waste management provider, Closed Loop was proud to support the vision of a low-impact, environmentally conscious event. With a focus on circular waste solutions and measurable outcomes, Closed Loop delivered a tailored strategy that kept sustainability front and centre.
Key outcome:
88% of all waste generated was diverted from landfill, directly supporting the event’s commitment to a positive environmental legacy.
“Thank you for your incredible support, which contributed to an outstanding 88% diversion of waste from landfill.
Your expertise and efforts were invaluable—from leveraging your relationships with waste facilities to ensure certain single-use packaging could be processed in the organics stream, to your hands-on role in waste separation.
Your professionalism and commitment were crucial to achieving this result. I genuinely appreciate the dedication and expertise you brought to the event and would highly recommend Closed Loop to any event organiser aiming to improve resource recovery.”

Dedicated waste streams and hand sorting
A core pillar of the strategy was designing a system that could capture and recover as much material as possible. Closed Loop implemented the following key actions:
- Defined seven distinct waste streams
- Deployed appropriate bin systems
- Engaged in on-site hand sorting to ensure quality and minimise contamination

The seven waste streams:
- General Waste
- Comingled Recycling
- Paper & Cardboard
- Soft Plastics
- Simply Cups (specialist cup recycling)
- CDS (Container Deposit Scheme)
- Organics
Why it matters
Agrifood innovation isn’t just about what we grow or consume—it’s about how we do it responsibly. This project demonstrated that environmental stewardship can be seamlessly integrated into large-scale events. From recycling single-use coffee cups through Simply Cups to capturing organics for composting, each stream was carefully managed to reduce impact and model a circular economy in action.
